CHAN2022: Uganda Cranes Overcome Senengal to top Group B with 4 points

 Uganda Cranes Skipper and Sc Vipers forward, Milton Kaliisa nets in the second game of the 2022 CHAN group stages to go past the threatening Senegal.

The match started with Senegal as the favorites, given the fact that they are the reigning the champions of the 2022 AFCON but this was not enough reason for the Uganda cranes to fight for their first win in CHAN since 2014.

A miscommunication between defender Geoffrey Wasswa and goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi nearly gifted Senegal the lead with the latter holding a back pass but the indirect free kick awarded was dealt with.

A few moments later, Senegal was awarded a penalty taken by Cheikh Sidibe and saved by Alionz who was in the goalkeeper for Uganda.

An assist from Keneth Ssemakula met Milton Kaliisa in the right place at the right time and he scored the only goal in the game, pushing Uganda Cranes on top of Group B.

The Head Coach, Micho deployed Mutyaba Travis,  Titus Ssematimba, Moses Aliro, Hillary Mukundane and Abdul Karim Watambala in the second half.

Keneth Ssemakula was named the man of the match.

Uganda Cranes will play Ivory Coast on Sunday in their last match of the 2022 CHAN group stages.
